Can anyone tell me exactly what the difference between an F150 XL and an F150 Sport is? Suspension, power....? What exact components are different?

Sport package =monochromatic paint job,painted grill and bumpers(not chrome).There are no suspension or engine power differences.It is more like a sport appearance package,than anything else.

Heres my F150STX which is the same thing as a sport. Stx is what they were called in 97 and 98.WHat the package includes is the Bumpers the same color as the paint the back of the mirrors match the paint. the 17inch rims and also the seats i believe.

Bomber, 17 inch wheels nope. They are part of a different package.My y2k f150 sport 4x4 4.2L 5 speed xl has 16 inch wheels. Is your truck an xlt? I think thats where the wheel size changes(xlt,lariat)

Having reread your post Mavo7, A truck can be both a sport and an xl(mine is). I am sure it could also be a sport and an xlt.I used to have a 98 xl and it the chrome 16 inch wheels and Chrome bumpers.The piece that surounds the grill is also.The grill is that grey color. Non painted mirrors. No interior carpet, bench seat. My xl sport has no carpet,16 inch chrome wheels,painted bumpers,painted grill surround, painted grill, painted mirrors,and split bench seat w/ folding console-armrest. Those are the only differences in my 98 xl and my y2k 4x4 xl sport.

Thanx for the help guys. So it's just an apearance package? I knew it. A friend of mine had it and kept telling me mine sucked because his engine had like 15 extra horsepower etc because it was a sport. I'll put him in his place!
