Post Dual Exhaust on a 4.2

Does anyone have dual exhaust on a 4.2L V-6. I have a 1999 F-150 4x4 regular cab stepside V-6 with a 5 speed and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if duals would sound good on the V-6. If so please reply with your opinion and which brand to buy.

Flowmaster 40 muffler, chrome tips straight out the back. All I ever get is "nice truck, is it a v-8?" or "fords suck" in which case I show them just how much fords really do suck ;-)

Are talking true duals( from the headers back) or just dual it out fro the muffler back?If it is true duals keep the pipe size down(2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inches). Don't want to lose too much backpressure.Kiss your low end torque goodbye without a certain amount of backpressure. The muffler brand is really just a personal preference.

If you talking from the muffler back the FLowmaster 40 series single in dual out is the way to go. i get complimented all the time, and most are suprised its a v6.

Cool

Hey REDFORD, I have straight pipes from cat back, with one glass pack before the y- pipe then stainless tips, without glass pack it didn't sound as nice and too loud, now it sounds more like a v8. Very happy with my purchase. The stainless tips run around $80 a piece but well worth it, I was going to get chrome tips, but why when you will have to polish them all the time with the stainless just wash them no rusting very nice for a busy man like myself. Just wanted to give you my opinion. Good luck.
