Red face Lightning rim failure ! ! ! ! !

I went to get my tires rotated today and the attendant noticed a very bad thing. One if the spokes on my LF rim had a nice "hairline" crack around the whole circumference of of the spoke! I immediately had my brother bring up the stockers and we put them on. Thank you tire guy, where ever you are! I took the rims back to the dealer and they would only refer me to some SVT hotline. They said all lightning problems need be resolved that way. I'm like WTF? I don't have a lighting I say. They say, well then why do you have those rims....(I am really pissed by now). I ask them to replace the rims or give me a refud right now and they say they don't do that "Kinda Stuff". I am sooooo pissed off!!! I guess I'll be searching for a new set of rims now. Maybe I'll just buy some new tires for the stock rims, Nittos like I have, that'll keep the sleeper thing goin. Anyways, check your rims if you have the 99 lightning rims, they could be fubar.

P.S.- my truck is stricly driven on the street and there is nothing that has occured to the truck that could have caused this. The tire guy said it looked like a long term stress fracture which is usually caused by possibly a bad batch. The crack had extended to the lip of the rim as well. Weird as ****!

That's what you get for buying from Fred Jones. You'll take it in the shorts every time on customer NON-service.

If you bought them from a dealer, go up until you get the service you want. If you have to speak to the owner of the dealer, do it, we did. If that dosn't work, get ahold of a district manager, or Ford Customer service. Have there butts on a platter, settle for nothing less.

You don't know this dealer. Fred Jones Autocollection is corporate owned and they just don't give a damn. You can bitch to high heaven and it still won't motivate them one way or another. They don't care what you or Ford have to say. If you'd care to come to Oklahoma City, go right ahead and raise hell with them, it won't make any difference.

Kilroy is right, FJ Ford is a son-of-a-B1TCH!
They have hassel free pricing which is a bunch of horse ****, you pay what they want you to pay(I bought mine from my uncle....he helped me a bit), and their service department won't help you unless they can do something for you that YOU have to PAY for. I would most definately do more business with Reynolds on the mile, except for my family connection, hell my uncle hates the job(but loves the check). Reynolds even has had TWO lightnings, Two 99 Cobras, and a frekin Cobra R. I like their style. As far as the rim goes, I have John Colletti's e-mail address, he's a good man and has replied to my e-mails before, I'll just see what he wants me to do.......

You heard Ford bought out Fred Jones Hall and is taking over those dealerships didn't you? Fred Jones Manufacturing also lost their big-daddy contract with Ford to remanufacture parts. Makes my heart feel glad. At any rate, Ford is slowly removing the Fred Jones name and changing the way they operate. Too late for me, though. If their lives depended on me just blinking, I'd prop open my eyelids just to get rid of 'em. I prefer the service department at Hudiburg Ford in Purcell. Their parts and service is made up of all of the people from Fleming Ford who got assed out during this Autocollection consolidation (including the service manager). I can't say what they're like to buy from, but the service manager, Luther Dawson, is a straight shooter.

Yes, he's talking about Reynolds Ford/Mazda on the "Magnificent Mile of Cars" in Norman, managed by that goofball Dale Daniels that's in those silly ads on the boob tube.

Talking

Hey Guys, My ex-girlfriend was a Title clerk at Reynolds Ford. Dale Daniels is a boob. I got to meet him what an ego!! But Old Man Reynolds still owns 51% percent of Reynolds Ford. He was really nice, and worked with customers well. Really a nice old man. If you have any mechanical trouble go talk to a mechanic by the name of Jerry at Reyolds Ford. He really knows his stuff... (Ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend.) Don't it make you wonder I live in Tennessee but had a gf in Oklahoma... hummm okay... But yeah Reynolds Ford is a good Dealership, they have good sales reps. and pretty good mechanics...
