Talking I GOT MY AIRAID!!!!!!!!

Hey Guys, I got my airaid... Instructions that came with it... Don't ask... I had to look at the picture on the box to install it.
only lost one part, the rubber gommet... Easy fix silicone!!! Now on to the power gains! A little more horses... But at wide open throttle about 3,000 rpm you can really hear that baby suck. Great throaty sound...

Okay Does anyone now where I can get some more Airaid decals??? humm???

Question

Hey Headless,
How do you like your Air Raid so Far? Did you notice any difference in torque and top-end performance? How about m.p.g.?

I like my Airaid, but I do have a whistling sound coming from it... I think that is normal though... As for as performance gain... OH YEAH!!! It has more get up and go now. as far as MPG? they went down bad... I can't seem to get my lead foot out of the gas pedal... I love the throaty roar the Airaid makes... I love pulling up to shovies and kicking it... and letting them hear that roar as I leaving them setting

SurF-150,
The one thing I should mention. is the instructions to install the Airaid, BITE! I looked at a picture on the webpage here to install it correctly. also be very careful when install the air temperature sensor. I lost the rubber gommet that came with it.. so I had to silicone that part in... Don't worry Silicone works fine...

Now a stab at the Superchip. If you can get one... get one check with Mike Troyer you can find his number and addie under the computer chips section of this webpage. I can't run a superchip. because of a jumper issue, (I'll explain) The jumper issue is where a couple of circuits we not completely closed at the factory on the service port of the truck's computer where the Superchip plugs in. I have been unable to fix the jumper problem yet... so I'm unchippable. but I suggest.. get the airaid first then think about Flowmasters... then the chip...

Question

Hey Headless,

Do you think anyone could install the airaid? The only reason I haven't bought one yet is because of the install issue. In California I think the airaid will not pass a smog check andI will have to reinstall stock to pass. I know nothing about fixing or installing stuff on my truck, and I'm not sure if I could do it myself. Airaid says its a simple install (20 min) even for someone as dumb as me. I really want to buy one, HELP!!!

It is easy, but HH is right, the instructions are lame.

A couple of months ago I posted a topic called "Airaid Installation" here in the V6 section, describing what the instructions SHOULD say. If you plan to install an Airaid on the 4.2, check out that old thread - I'm sure it will save you some time.

Dirt Bike Dave, did have a thread on here... I think it was the one I used to install my Airaid. Anyone can install the Airaid. if they take their time and look at the thread Dave mentioned... But be careful with the rubber gommet they send you that hold the air temperature sensor in place... I lost mine and had to silicone that sensor in place... So be careful other than that it is pretty simple...
