Proper way to burnout?.....
(I forgot that cigarxtc has an automatic)
Hold in 1st gear
Brake-torque WOT
Release brake enough for tire(s) to spin.
Let it wind up the tires a bit more (with no acceleration, there's little load) and wait for smoke (grin).
Let go of the brake. The acceleration weight on the tires will soon win - or the wheel-hop will loosten your dentures -- either way the tires will stop spinning.
There's very little likelihood of hurting the trans -- but if you're winding up one tire, you'll be buying spider gears (or worse) down the road.
Wheel-hop and the rapid load/un-load/loading of the torque on the drivetrain will break something -- it's only a matter of time.
Any good field-service tech can tell in an instant how the part failures occurred -- if there's a shock failure. You don't see 'wear-out' failures for parts very often.

First of all let me state that you Okies will probally never out number us Texans, heck you won't even be able to out number us from DFW!
On a damp night a couple of weeks after I bought my truck I was at a stop light and decided I would open her up when it turned green. Tires were spinning into 3rd gear and I almost lost the back end in the middle lane of traffic. I highly recomend after personal experience not do this, because it can be really dangerous and expensive.

Hey CR1,
Chassic tech is cool, but my experience w/ them was NOT too COOL!!
1. I orderd my lowering kit from Autobahn (middle men sales) (www.zmotive.com)
2. when I received my lowering kit, i was missing my shackles, and there was not even a note in the box says that they had a back order, so luckly for me I know what I knew whatI was getting and I knew 4 sure I was missing the SHACKELS.
3. So I called AUtobahn and told them that I am missing my shackles and they placed me on hold so they can call CHASSIS TECH, so they told me they had an BACK ORDER for 1 week.
4. So I wanted one week and they came.
Heres the RESOLUTION: When u ever buy something out of a mail order system U must always be aware of what u are getting or suppose to get and once it arrives pay attention to what U payed for!!
But I was kinda disapointed that there was NOT even a NOTE in the (BOX) shipping saying something like they have a backorder on the schakles and they will be shipped out to me in 1 week, and Instead I had to miss 1 days of work to get this resolved and made SURE I get and got what I payed 4!!!
but Chassic tech is a great product, but I perfer belltech, but for what I paid for chassis tech, it was about 100.00 cheaper!!! I can't complain!!!
good luck on what u product u purchase~!!
Dropped!

Hey, GreenV6: My kid does that on his 99 Honda CBR-900RR - He can do as many donuts as he wants with tire smoking like a bug-killer (sort of hard on tires, duhhh, but safer than his wheelies and brakies).
Kilroy,
It's all in fun. What's with the personal slam? But since you started...........you know that I can only hang up that "Dummy on Board" sign when you're riding with me........in the bed of my truck........sitting with my dogs.

With my 95 5-speed if I try a in burn out in 1'st gear the truck bounces so bad I'v had CD's that where sitting on the dash fly out the window and in second I find it hard to get'm going(this is with out brake) Would brake help???
Greenie: With that kind of weight on the back, he'd be really hard-pressed to keep the front-end down.
Been helping him customize his ride. Today's project was putting on the just-chromed wheels ($650 exchange), wire up some custom lights, and he's putting all of the just-painted body panels on. Were yellow, now all black.
It's gonna be quite a nice-looking rocket (does power-wheelies even with my lard-*** driving it).
We're going to get it running in time for next Sunday's trip to Baldwin for the annual 'Blessing of the Bikes'. Come to think of it, my 'Wing needs polishing before then, too.
