Last night after work, Dirtslinger and I went out for a drive. We were approaching a stop light slowing to maybe 3 MPH, the light turned green and I punched it, caught him by surprise as I had almost two body lenghts on him but DS quickly ate me up. At the next light however, we had both stopped and were ready for the dual. I was power braking the truck a little, (didn't want to hurt the tranny) and when the light turned green, I mashed the pedal through the floor, She leaped forward, tires squeeling as they broke traction from the pavement. The tac. was climbing.. 3k, 4k, 5k, as it shifted between 1st and 2nd gears. This truck is ~quick~ off the line. Just as she shifted into 3rd gear I noticed DS's headlights in my right side mirror, What a great feeling! but not for long, shortly after hitting 3rd gear, DS flew by me , covering my truck in billowing white smoke from his burning P235's. I knew I was going to eat dirt, but not off-the-line, not w/ my current set-up. Later on that night DS said he didn't expect to get beat off the line by a 6 banger. :-) I was happy to here that from a 5.4 owner.

Hey Dirtslinger!, any time you want a rematch (off the line) again, just let me know! I'd be glad to whoop your @ss. Maybe you should airdown them stock tires for better traction! :-)

Hmm...posting kill stories on me,huh? Boy i noticed in a hurry that the 235's are better for smoking than hooking up! I pedaled it and still spun them into 2nd gear. Once they caught hold in 2nd i flew by ya tho. Ill give ya credit where its due tho...That geared,chipped,K&N'ed and Dynomaxed V6 jumps well. We'll see what happens when i get 35's and regearing,ok? Then maybe i'll have to post how badly you got spanked by a lifted,stock truck :P Then there's always my Camaro...lol.

DS, I'll race you anytime, just as long as it's not with the 600 HP camaro. No 6 banger can hang w/ that.

I have a feeling though, even when you get your 35" tires and new gears, I'll still be able to take you off the line. Once you get your truck all finished and your comfortable w/ it's handling, give me a gingle, I;ll race yea, or better yet, stop on by, I mean, heck, were only 5 miles from eachother and Gimpkiller is right in the middle. Why not throw in 1st SUPERCREW too, he's only right down the road. I think it's time for another SD rally

Dirtslinger the 255s aren't much better.
They are really bad in the rain.
On the rare occasions my wife drives it shee even complains about the spin in the rain and she babies it.

Actually this race was the first time for my 2 yr old truck, and the first time for DS's truck too. The short (off the line) race was totally unexpected, I knew DS would be up for the challenage, we have been hanging out together so I know he is a speed fanatic. It seems though lately, we chat on-line more than hooking up and working on our trucks.
He works some weird hours.
