hey, just wondering if you noticed any change in performance with the pulleys? also, did you have to get a new belt?

Anyone looking for these underdrive pullys would do well to check with Roger Lemere, Steve's partner in F150online's own Digital Marketplace store. Roger has access to just about anything, and can get you an excellent price as well.

The effects so far have shown about a tenth of a second off the 1/4 mile times on the V-6's, and a tenth and a half (.15) on the V-8's. Most people really don't actually feel anything in the seat of the pants with these pulleys, as they do not increase the engine's actual power output, and are most effective at higher rpm's, but they do reduce parasitic loses, and so a bit more horsepower is sent to the rear wheels. So it's the type of mod that while you may not feel in the seat of the pants, they do make a difference in 1/4 mile times, so they do work, and work well.

Good luck!

How come my 4.2 underdrive pulley is clear alum. and not the black one. It was $80. I'm not complaining, just asking. Noticed that another owners was black.

I used to have a dakota with underdrive pulleys. If your in a hot weather state you might not want to go the underdrive pulley route. It will significatly weaken your A/C effectivness especially at idle. It will also slow the charge rate on your battery. especially if you spend a lot of time in stop and go traffic you may need to invest in a trickle charger and slap it on your battery once a week or so. At least that was my experience with them, so take it at face value. I am not condoning or discrediting underdrive pulleys just adding my 2 cents worth of past experiences.

I have the ASP crank pulley. I paid $80 directly from ASP. My pulley is black and looks like the factory pulley. I had to use a 102" long belt with the pullies. I noticed no ill-effect on charging or A/C performance. I picked up a 0.10 sec and 1.0 mph in the quarter with this change. I highly recommend it!
