I have a 99 f150 5.4 v8 with a toasted motor and a recently totaled 01 f150 with a running motor....both transmissions are fine. Is it possible to put the 01 4.2l v6 into the 99 truck?

 

You'll have to change pretty much everything over including the ecu. The transmissions aren't interchangeable from 5.4l to 4.2l. Basically just gut both trucks and put everything from the 4.2l truck into the 5.4l truck.
