I need help..1998f150 feels like a short in fuel

I have a 1998 F150 4.2 and it is running very very riough.
Feel like its running out of gas but with a more electric feel
runs stops runs sputters and I banged on the passenger kick panel and it stopped for a while but I cant get it to stop now.
Anyone know whats going on????

Is the CEL on? Any OBD2 codes?

Try resetting the fuel pump inertia switch, that's where it's at. Push the red button on it and check the electrical connector.

Might want to turn the switch off and on on a few times, could have dirty contacts.

Has any water leaked in that area before, might be a bad switch.

Just my $0.02
