Battery light comes on at about 4000 rpm

Appreciate it, but I didn't even want to start out on a trip with an electrical issue of any kind - the alternator could have totally failed at any time.

yes they are but that is fords term for it cause crystler owns that term it is put in our schooling when i did electrical that it is a generator not alternator idk what differnce it makes it the same thing

Alternator = alternating current generator.
