My 4.2 starts rough occastionally

Hi Guys,

Trying to diagnose why the 4.2L in my '06 occasionally has a rough time starting. What I mean is, sometimes it needs to turn over a few times to fire up, and sometimes, when i release the ignition, it seems to wait a second and fires up.

Anyone else ever have issues like this? I've never had it fail to fire up, it just sometimes seems to take longer than other times.

67K miles

Auto transmission

There isn't much of a pattern to it. It happens when the engine is both cold and warm.

As far as I know, it may still have the factory battery in it, not sure how often those should be replaced.

Mine did the same exact thing. They replaced the throttle body and sensor under warranty and it hasn't done it since.

My V6 did that same thing for 50k miles now, I just shrug it off. Sometimes my V8 does it too.
