Stick feels loose (manual transmission)

After getting my truck back from the dealer, there seems to be a lot of play in the stick. As in, when it's in gear (any gear) you can move the stick back and forth about 2 inches each way. It did not do this prior to being at the dealer. I know the feel of my truck and know something is different. The stick just feels very loose now. It had a much tighter feel before. I know they were looking into the transmission for a possible buzzing sound but ended up ruling that out.

Any idea what could have happened?

Oops, sorry. Forgot to mention that. Left and right. It had almost no play before. Although, it seems to also go into each gear easier now. Not that it was rough before, but I do notice a difference.

Mine doesn't move left or right in any gear... it is nice and tight just like it came from the factory.

Something sounds wrong with your upper shift levers...

I knew something was up. It seems the dealer just ended up causing more damage. Something else that I now have to have fixed.

Only good news is, Ford is offering to extend my warranty due to all of the issues I've had. Better than nothing, I suppose.

Either way, I still have another year left on the bumper to bumper and the powertrain warranty still has four years.

Wow, I honestly feel bad for you. Your truck is always having trouble. General rule with my vehicles: Dealership aren't aloud to touch it!

Seriously, i brought my truck in to dealership only once, to have my ecu re-flashed with cruise control activated. (I installed cruise control buttons). Only a Ford dealership can do this. As far as my local dealership goes, I can do better work in my own garage. I've had a lot of buddies break down after bringing their vehicles to that dealership, so i don't know how other dealerships are, but i know there's some you must avoid. This particular one you go to, might be one of them.

I agree. They've honestly caused more issues than they've fixed. Sure, I am grateful my brakes now work properly. But honestly, I brought it in for them to fix the buzzing sound that was coming from somewhere around the clutch. Now, the drivers seat, stick and a scratch in my dash has to be fixed. I've already had enough issues with this truck. The last thing I need is them creating more. Another member of this forum sent me a PM informing me of another Ford dealer in the area that seems to do much better work. I guess I'll check in with them and see if they can correct the problems my current dealer has created.

This truck is turning into nothing more than a headache. I didn't spend 14k for a brand new vehicle to be dealing with this. Not to mention, I really just do not have time to be dealing with this. Thanks for the replies.
