rough engine when running
went out to my truck this morning to start it to warm up, and it would crank and then act like it was going to start and it wouldnt, and after alittle bit it did. sstart it has newer spark plug in it, new fuel pump ,and i just replaced the wires. when i replaced the wires today it wouldnt start and when it did it misfired and sounded rough. i was doing a little reading on the coil packs seems like these have alot of issues what is the easyest way to check them they must ohm out a something. thanks

How many miles do you have on it? Pretty common for the 4.2 coil pack to need replacing at around 80k-100k miles. I'm not sure of a safe way to physically check it. Do you have a check engine light on?
As far as the plugs and wires, are they motorcraft? Another common issue is when people use other brands of plugs.

Since there's no check engine light....
....I'd start with switching in the motorcraft plugs\wires. I see lot's of threads about rough idle, starting issues, etc all smoothing out once people swap out the off brands for motorcraft. Another common misconception is that some people (including me years ago) think that Bosch plugs\wires are oem and the best choice when they are not. Usually you would see a CEL if the coil pack is going bad. Good luck.
