I am getting the p1309 AICE chip fault code on my 4.2L v-6. I am almost certain that I caused this because of my ignorance. I was trouble shooting a cooling system issue and pulled the cam sycronizer out of the block. when I realised I should be messthat this was not something ing with I tried to place it back in the same position that I found it. The truck cranked right up with no noticable issues but a short time later the AICE chip code showed up. I did not remove the cam position sensor though. the truck runs and is not out of time but the aice chip fault code has not been cleared.

I even have a ford oem shop manual for the truck and tried to place the syncronizer back to 52 degrees from the engine center line.


What am i missing? is there something wrong with the syncro?

what is involved to fix this?
