Hello, I have a 99 f150, 4.2, 147,600 miles, all stock and starting to surge at idle. From reading other posts, I am sure I need plugs...and wires. Then i read that the plugs break when removing?????
Any thoughts or direction will ba appreciated....I prefer to do my own work, dealers are way to expensive.
Thanks

Welcome!
I've never had a problem breaking a plug on the V6. One thing to watch out for is make sure you keep your plug wires in the right order. On your coil pack, cylinders 1 -4 are in the same orientation as your motor, but cylinders 5 & 6 are reversed for some reason.
Absolutely get Motorcraft plugs for these motors. I am one of many that put in Bosch and regretted it (had one fail at less than 20,000 miles). I was skeptical of the Bosch problem reports until it happened to me. For whatever reason, these motors and ignitions do not like Bosch spark plugs!
