I had a Diablosport hand held tuner for my 01 Mustang GT. The tunes that came in the tuner really woke the car up and made it more drivable. I liked the results the car recieved with that tuner. That car is gone now and so is that tuner. I found the Hypertech on ebay preowned of course and got it for $50.00. The custom tunes have been restored to the unit and is ready to be installed on my truck. Just have to wait till it 's delivered to my house. If I can get a nice towing tune from this unit and a high octane tune, I feel that will be worth the 50 bones right there. Mark M

Correction: It turns out the the tuner I purchased from Ebay, the hypertech part #41037, only has one tune to install on my 4.2. The tune is a power tune that requiers premium fuel. Oh well, it should work nicely. Mark M

you'll probably get better mileage and save more than the extra $5 it costs you fill with 93 octane

or discover you like the added power and shift characteristics and burn more fuel due to your lack of self control.

he's got a stickshift so the tuner won't affect that but he'll probably love being able to keep up with traffic and burn more fuel

Do you really need the extra power? I have a Troyer tuned X3, but found out that I didn't need the extra power.

ive got a t70 replacing my current turbo setup..

i have no need for the extra power i dont race the truck... i just like it

however a t70 is a little big for a 4.2l v6 so i may not have as much tq as i have currently.

What are you looking for in a tune? I mean you have a V6 in a fullsize supercab truck...

Hey, can't a guy just have a litttle fun with his pickup? If I can get an extra 15 HP with the hypertech which is pretty accurate to what the tune will bring, well so be it. That's a well spent 50 bucks to me. I don't know how to spend so little and get that kind of extra HP from any other mod. Just having some fun. Geez............MM.

If you want to do it right, look into custom tuning. I can't see you getting 15hp out of a chip, but I'm certainly not an expert on the subject. I can say that getting my 4.2 custom tuned was well worth it and it's night and day from stock tune. It actually made this lil 4.2 some what fun to drive!

That won't be 15rwhp. I'm just saying putting money into a V6 in a fullsize pickup besides maintenance is pretty pointless, no offense.
