V6 Load Capacity

I do not know if this is the right section or not, but I am staring a Mobile Detailing Business and am for right now carrying everything in the bed of my 2008 F150 Automatic V6 truck. I am purchasing a new detail system that weighs roughly 575 lbs, with all of my other supplies and such I am thinking rougly around 700 pounds in the bed. Is this to much to carry around on a daily basis? I did not know if this would effect the rear suspension a good amount or not. Comments please? Thanks

I'm sure you'll be fine with 700lbs in the back. The payload is 1830lbs (6ft bed) 1850lbs (8ft bed) and the GVWR is 6500lbs (6ft bed) and 6650lbs (8ft bed).

Thanks for the help. I finally found those specs on Consumer Guide website. I thought I should be ok, but I am new to this whole truck thing coming from a Mustang Vert. Thanks again!!!

Are you joking?

Right now I am hauling ~1500 lbs - ~800 lbs in tool box, and ~500 in sandbags, plus the weight of me and everything else and that is with the manual tranny.

There's a lawn care dude that I know that has a 2002 v6 F150 with 230k+ on the odo, and he uses it for plowing and heavy hauling of his equipment and trash! One day I saw him loaded up with his bed filled with top soil, and he had his double axle trailer with like 2 yards of top soil along with his tools, like shovels and wheel barrels. I don't want to know how much the total GVWR was... It had to be beyond 12k.

These trucks will carry a lot more than what they "suggest".

Last Year I did my sidewalk. I had the guy at lowes just forklift the entire pallet of concrete about 25 80lbs bags into the back with a cement mixer and all the hand tools. I estimated the weight to be about 2500lbs with the load....oh wait, then theres my 245lb self & my 245 passenger...so figure 3000lbs in a 2007 XL v6 8Ft Bed.

Man I haul wood to junk all the time, and sometimes my bed is sagging all the time. As long as I don't hit bumpstops I am good. I used to always diss ford pickups. Then my boys told me you can't knock it till you try it. These are tough trucks. I done some things like drop in bedliner and hitch, k&n filter, flowmaster muffler. Now I would like a transmission cooler. I am always hauling wood. Me and my dad cut logs and put them in the bed and haul them out the woods. I will start hauling scrap metal soon for extra cash. pictures later!

that is not 2 1/2 yards of topsoil manual... that would be about 67.5 cubic feet, and your bed is around there and it aint full. And topsoil usually weighs about 1-1.5t/c yd....more like 6k lbs for 2.5 yards...thats about a yard, maybe a yard and a half... maybe a ton or 2500 lbs. at most dude.

Sorry typo... 3k lbs roughly... It was some heavy crap trying to get it out of there nonetheless.

It is 1 1/2 cubic yards.
