Quote: sorry im not big on gas engines. what is the TB and elbow ports? and i check my oil about once a week and i always keep it at the top of the safe zone.
That's bad for it. Can cause leaks and foaming of the oil. Just keep your oil at the 6 quart level or a little lower rather than at MAX.

The 6 quart level is 1/4 to 1/2 way down from MAX. Your better off running a little low. Mark it next change

Look up Cleaning the throttle body in the how to's, but it's not a big problem in the V6's

??? okay i will look that up thank you... but the 6 quart level would be over full on my pickup... mine holds 5 and a 1/4 guarts. and it is full...

so your telling me i should leave it a little low? i mean still in the safe zone... but not at the top of the safe zone?

my pickup does smoke all the time. i mean even on warm days and the pickup is warmed up you can see the exhaust coming from the pipes. and it uses a little oil... but not all that much... it uses about half a quart between each oil change. so its not to bad. but the smoke coming from the pipes is not blue smoke so i know its not oil buring... the smoke is just white. does anyone else pickup do this? i have alot of friends that have newer V8's and none of there's smoke when the pickup is warm and it is warm outside. i mean you cant see the exhaust... no matter what the tempurature is you can still see mine smoking tho.

is this cause i keep my oil level to the max?
