Where is temp sending unit
If it's like the 5.4s. it's internal and is connected to the PCM. No external sending unit.

They don't use a temp sender. It has a cylinder head temp sensor located in the rear of the left cylinder head. It sends a signal to the pcm and the pcm sends a signal to the instrument cluster over the network to work the temp gauge. Changing the coolant doesn't involve the sender unless you were removing it to minimize the air pockets.
