Hello,

I encountered error code P1747 on my 1998 F-150 4.2 V6.

P1747 Electronic Pressure Control Solenoid - Short circuit

Any advice where this solenoid lives on my engine or what the fix may be?

Team Ford here in Marietta GA wants to charge me $100 just for the privilege of looking under the hood to diagnose the problem, then charge me parts, plus labor, etc...

Any help or what direction to point me to would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same code on my 2000 F150. The EPC solenoid is in the tranny pan. I just changed mine and I still have the code still working on the problem.
