nitrous?

Hey guys, i'm looking into a nitrous kit for my truck in the future. My trucks a 2000 v6 2wd auto and it's bone stock right now except for a kn filter. My question is just who makes a kit that would work for the truck,im guessing it could handle a 50-75 shot. And how hard would the install be for someone who knows engines but hasnt ever had any experiance with nitrous. I don't have the money for a turbo or supercharger so please don't rag on me for lookin into nitrous. I just want to know how hard it would be to install and who makes a kit. thanks

im not sure how hard it would be, and im not sure how many people here are running Nitrous. But you can go to v6f150.com and v6power.net there is a few guys on those sites running it.

Now I understand the money situation but if you really stop and think about it a kit is gonna cost somewhere around 500ish and a new 10lb bottle everytime you run out will cost 200-300ish. Id think the turbo or supercharger would be cheaper in the long run. And probably more reliable.

But I havent used it so i wouldnt know 100%...

yea thanks, well i could get it filled for free at my cousins shop. The main reason im worried about a turbo set-up is because i know nothing about it and heard i would pretty much have to fab up my own kit. And if not that pay sombody to make me a kit but that's probly way out of my price range. I think ill do some more research on a turbo before i go with nitrous though

the turbo (if everything is done right the first time) will cost you under 4k. << fabbed installed yourself.

Now things you need to know, cheap ebay turbos will just burn up and you will be wasting money. Same with all the other components, make sure you get high quality parts.

With the stock block you can run 8 psi safely with a GOOD tune. TJ03150 has a turbo setup on a 4.2.

ok kool, I've got nowhere near enough right now,so i have lots of time to research. But pretty much just spend the extra money to get good quality and don't fool around with things that look like a deal?

I work here at a Chevy and Dodge dealership and our Autozone here told me that theyre running specials on nitrous kits, I think its a wet/dry shot, whole kits around 700ish if Im not mistaken. I know turbo is out of your price range but check out www.ststurbo.com they use a remote mounted setup, and their prices range from 2000.00 to 3000.00. Im thinking about getting one for my truck
