My truck already gets great gas mileage, it's plenty fast, and it's really fun to drive.

22 mpg... an automatic Ford Focus doesn't even get that.

WOW you must have some kind of fine dust on your roads. I live on gravel roads and do atleast half my driving on gravel and dirt roads, but I can go atleast 10,000 miles before changing my stock air filter and then it's not all that dirty.

I dont doubt that your truck can pull 22 mpg, but no way will it beat a Focus in terms of fuel milage.
No offense, but if you think your truck gets better milage than a Focus, you are living in la-la land.

That is technology proven by Honda Civics. We all know that stickers add horsepower to Honda Civics.

Agreed.

Most people don't call a cam install "cheap" or "easy"...

That's about the only way you can get more power and better fuel efficiency for cheap and be 25 HP noticeable.

Maybe a 4.6L stroker from SSM, but that doesn't qualify as either of the above, either.

Besides, you arent going to gain 25 hp with a few simple bolt-ons. Face it, you have a V6. Your truck is never going to be fast. If you wanted power you should have bought a truck with a V8.
Your best bet is to save your money for a few years and trade up to a truck with a V8.
I dont mean to be a jerk, but thats the way it is.
ok so y in a diesel u add power adders.. chip ex. and it gets 3 mpg better? maybe it aint the same with gas but y wouldent it be? and y on all the poweradders does it say add 20hp or whatever and 2 mpg? maybe i dnt know how to read but i think i read it right.

you read right, it just that you read inflated numbers that companies put on sites to get sales. as for the diesel they get power by dumping more fuel in and i think gas tuners do the same on a smaller level but they play with timing and spark etc

okay yeah, your not going to get 25hp from an air filter.

i dont care what the box says. or what anyone else says.

if i can get an extra 25hp with a bigger better air filter than ive got because the box says 25hp u think im gonna be at 300rwhp?

good luck buddy

get an xcal2, a cam would be great. intake, exhaust, udp, efans. all that would be cheap.

i dint say that... well maybe i did but i dint mean that... i know im not gunna get even 10 out of an air filter... but there is other stuff to do to a vehicle to make it get more then 25 hp. thats what i meant... sry for the confusion...

im sure your right about the read on the box deal so the company can sell moer... but dad had a pickup about 6 months ago that he put the air filter on and it jumped the power 22hp and 35 lb of trq (it was in a diesel) and it helped the sound alot!!! and it also gave it 2 mpg more...

im wondering if an airfilter on a gas would do that... yes i know it wont add that much more power... but i am looking for sound and mpg more then power... cause i really dnt need power for anything... thats y we have diesel's sittin around so when we do need to pull omethin we can do it with ease... but i just want the sound and mpg from it...

get a mac cai.

get your exhaust done too. dont go too big on the pipes though because u'll lose too much backpressure and that will mess with your low end.

just dont put flowmastersr :-P

magnaflow, mac, imco .. those are good choices for a good sound. imo....

get an xcal2 not only can u get a tune to give it a little better response you can pull trouble codes and all that too. just overall a nice thing to have.
