did tune up now wont start

I need some help.. I put new plugs and wires on my truck today.. Went from the Xact wires to the Autolite profesional wires, and went from Autolite Platinums to Autolite double platinums... After done i started it up and missed like crazy.. Checked all plug boots and still missed.. Got to the point where it wouldnt run at all. Changed everything back to the old stuff I had just took off and it still will not start.. This is my daily driver and I am up the creek unless I can get it running.. Any input would be great thanks Vaughn

Try a new coil pack. Did you use dielectric grease?

I have a cousin that changed his wires and got the same results, turned out that he didn't put them in the right order...

I did use the grease on the plugs and the wires. I put the plug wires on in the order that I took them off in. My confusion is that it was running b4 I changed the plugs and wires but now it will not

I kind of had the same problem with my 4.6, except that i had moved some of the vaccum lines around, and had switched the egr vac line with the fuel rail vac line. made it miss like crazy. might want to check that too!!!

If you open the hood look down at the stickers - it says to use "MotorCraft"

Service manual says to use MotorCraft.

CD & DVD's say to use MotorCraft .

The people who make AutoLite (Honeywell) say to use MotorCraft .

What more do you need?

Hell, that's why Honeywell makes both AutoLite and Motorcraft plugs - Motocrafts are made specifically for Ford.

Heres more if your still in question - Look close at the Autolites in this pic. They were run in a Modular Motor - Autolite plugs are not the correct heat range - They get hot and if you look at the pics you will notice discoloration on the Autolites from extreme heat . These plugs caused 2 misfiring cylinders and I know for a fact they were gapped and installed properly - I wrote Honeywell after this occurence. There Reply - Autolite Spark Plugs - NOT Ford spec - Motorcraft Spark Plugs are designed by Ford Motor and are made to there percise specs.

Here's a pic of the V8 elbow- I'm not absolutely sure there same as the 4.2 elbow. If your referring to the PCV elbow that plugs unto the manifold - They have a funky design inside and I would get this one from the dealership -
