motor upgrade

can i put a 302 in my 97 f-150 that has a 4.2 in it, and if so is a pain in the....... thank you for the help

The best thing to do is get a donor truck to make things easy. maybe a truck that has been rear ended or t-boned. either way you will spend a lot getting parts.

It's probably easier and cheaper beefing up the V6 - it already has as much horsepower as a 302 and not that much less torque.

And you can get taller gears to help with that.

before you decrease the value of your truck by putting in a 5.0 just sell it & buy a truck that already has a 8

Its a 97, if anything someone will give him more for it since it has a V8 rather than the V6.
