4.2l v6 Power Generator

I was browsing around on the net... and I stumbled across that the 4.2l v6 and the 6.8l V10 are primary uses of power generation due to the heavy duty nature of these engines.

I thought it was kind of interesting... anyhow, here's what a 4.2l V6 Ford Essex engine is doing in a generator...

What really surprised me was that Cummins Power generation was using it.

Well, they must believe it's a pretty reliable engine to put it in a generator of all things. My 01' 4.2 is still humming along with 76,500'ish miles on the odometer.

I can't understand why Ford Power Products doesn't use the 5.4l and the 4.6l to power anything...? Must not be heavy duty class engines.

But it sure is nice to know that my truck will long rot out well before that engine does.
