anyone have a lifted v6?

i have done a 3" lift on my 1997 f150 with the 4.2 and put 35" tires on it. it actually does handle the tires pretty well but gas mileage has suffered. just showing my truck and seeing if anyone else has one simmilar. i am also considering doing a 3" body lift for appearances. i want to add a picture but i cant figure it out. can someone post it for me i will e-mail it to them

I put a 6" lift on mine. I have my truck custom tuned by Troyer Performance and put in some 4.56 gears. Truck performes pretty good for a v-6, although at the moment I only have 33" tires.

Your truck looks good man.

I had a 4 inch fabtech on my 99 f150 with the 4.2. I ran 285/75/16 inch tires. It looked good but could barely get out of its own way.

Any effect on transmission shift with lift & gear change

Has anyone had an issue with a hard shift from first to second in their automatic transmission after lifting and a gear change? My 1999 has a 6" RCD lift, 4.56 gears, 35" tires, and XCal II tune. The 4R70W transmission will shift hard from 1-2 unless I really watch and give it very light throttle. The transmission was gone thru at a tranny shop and the 1-2 accumulator spring was replaced, but it still has a noticeable snap/jolt if you start with too much throttle and I do not mean by flooring it or trying to be fast from a stop. I was wondering if this was a result of the gears and tires (size & weight)?

Sounds like we have the same set up except tires. I run 33" tires currently. I don't have a hard shift from frist to second but with 33" tires and 4.56 gears my truck shifts from 1st to 2nd pretty quick under normal driving conditions. When you got your tunes done, did you ask for firmer shift points? I remember when I had mine done there was 3 different choices on how aggressive you wanted your shifts to be.
