Thumbs up My new 2007 F150

I bought a 2007 F150 XL,4.2,auto,Dark Blue Pearl,Friday afternoon! I gave my 1997 to my 19 year old son.I'm getting the windows tinted Saturday,a Line-X liner Monday, and will install a new sound system next weekend. That should hold me over for awhile, until I save more money for tires and rims.

Good luck with the new truck. Good to see your passing on the Ford heritage to your son.

And don't let him get rid of it for a stupid rice rocket either. If his friend's make fun of him, give him some tow chains and have him tow their little ricers away, while they've got'em floored! No match for the F150. lol

Some friend's made fun of my truck, till I pulled a Blazer 20 miles with his ebrake stuck on. After busting both front tow hooks off, bending the bumper, burning up the left rear brake, totally killing the alignment and front end of the Blazer, they all learned the lesson not to mess with me or my truck.

Holy chit man, they must have really ticked you off..... 20 miles?

Congrats on the new truck blue. Do you notice any difference in how the 4.2 performs in the new truck as oposed to the 97?

Well, yes and no;on take off it seems the 07 is just a bit slower to respond then my 97.But,after i'm going like 55 or better the response is much better.
And,the 07 is wider and taller then my 97;makes washing it a PIA!

once you break in the engine it should respond a little better, i used to drive a 1999 v6 f-150, had 250K+ on it, started every time and i hauled more than i expected it to do, IMO it was one great truck, passed it onto my dad's business where it is still towing loads today, the only problem was it hydro planed easily, but have fun with the truck and your son will be happy with his truck
