Exhaust sound clips

I, (and probably alot of other people) am looking for a sound clip of your exhaust on the 4.2. Please show what setup you have also. From what Ive been reading, the best/cheapest/easiest setup I found so far was just a Flowmaster 40 dumped. What do you guys think

I just bought a Gibson Swept Side Cat Back, at 4 Wheel Parts. I shoud have it this Thursday. It was only $318. My brother has had Gibson's and Flowmaster's, he told me the Gibson's lasted longer etc.

exhaust soundclips

I have played around with my exhaust so many times. You can see two main setups I've had recently on my profile pics. Anyways, after cleaning the cats and experimenting dual exhausts I just went out and bought the Super Turbo Dynomax duals ($280). I have a sound clip of them on my myspace page...

Sound clips are crappy when it comes to hearing tone of a truck. But I'm telling you, these Dynomax's are throaty and deep. Many of my friends thought it was a V8. I was not disappointed. Good luck!

No problem man, glad to help. I have done a few things that may or may not have affected the sound.

1) A 77 series K&N intake. I don't have a tach on my truck, but I have a manual and at these speeds (3.08 rear end): 15, 28, 39, 65, 88 you can hear and feel the intake kick in. It gives the exhaust a growl.

2) 2 of the 4 cats are punched out. This I think has an impact on the volume more than the tone, but not much since it's not a full cleanout.

If you're concerned about legality, I wouldn't go with the cats, but the intake might help. I know it's not much of a difference, but you can hear it at those speeds.

The dynomax super turbo kit is the cheapest dual kit that I could find, but from what I've heard it also sounds the best (V6). I live in vermont and my truck rusts like crazy, but those pipes are still like new. A very quality kit.

Hope this helps.
-Ian

P.S. Heres the link for the PDF to the dynomax catalog. They have so many kits. The dual exhaust kit I have is 17674, but thats for 1997-03.
