i have an '01 xlt/sport. i wasn't thrilled with my mileage either (under 14). i already had a k&n filter. i ordered a poweraid throttle body spacer from summit. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! i haven't used enough gas to warrent a trip to the gas station, but just guessing, looks like about a 25% improvement. very simple to install. inst say 30 min. it's true. good luck.

I had a '89 Mustang GT that I only had about $4500 in including purchase price and it would run mid 13's
and it was all motor with basically only a few bolt on's and a gear swap

The electronically controlled variable valve timing was perfected by the Japanese and every manufacturer has since tried to replicate the system with not so above average results. The Japs have been kicking the **** out us since we bombed them in the the automotive/ electronic/ and just plain out educational level. It's because dumb inbred morons like yourself are still chanting "America is a great country" and "Ford Tough" and you're still stupid enough to believe it. Face the facts... This country will be predominately Spanish speaking by the year 2015... Will you shout "Ford esta Tough" then? You're a retard like most of the others on this site and in this country and I grow tired of it because it embarasses me to say I'm American. I don't even knnow why I bother on this site. Bunch of pussies trying pick fights over typo's.

The purchase price of my car was $4500 and I dropped a 20K motor underneath the hood with bolt-ons/ full suspension for auto crossing/ and a gloriously comfortable set of Corbeau seats. What did you have in your backyard redneck rust-mobile. Just shut-up. The only guys that run respectable times on this site are Lightning owners and well you're just not one of them.

Dang rice a roni, who pissed in your cheerios??? Seems to me you're the one coming on here trying to pick fights. All I did was ask why a video with F-150's in it (BTW this is a Ford site) was flashing the text "VTec" (A Honda thing). You're the one that came on here acting like you were all high and mighty because you tied up 10K in a Honda and could only run in the high 13's and was proud because after spending several thousand dollars you could actually out run a STOCK Mustang
Lets get the facts straight here buddy, I paid $3500 for my '89 back about 4 years ago at that time it was 14 years old and was in extremely good shape (I can provide pic's if you would like). The car its self had 200K+ on the clock and still was very tight and extremely sharp, suspension had all new urethane, actually drove like new. I dont see too many 14yo Honda's for sale with 200K+ miles that the seller can get $3500 out of it.. maybe 1500. I put somewhere in the $1000-$1500 range of parts in the car (Edelbrock Performer upper/lower intake, GT40p heads, FMS headers and custom exhaust with FM 40's, 3.73's, Pro 5.0 shifter, etc..) none of them were new, bought them all used off the Corral and Ebay. Here's the funny part, if I would of put $6k in my car like you did I would of been running somewhere around the 11's
I'm not downing Honda a bit, they are good cars, have actually owned one with Vtec in it myself. Vtec is a great thing if you have a small displacement engine that you want to get maximum gas mileage out of it but yet when you need power its there. But its still no match to american muscle. BTW, I got rid of my car because it was just a play toy and I got tired of messing around with it and wanted to get other play toys. To my knowledge its still ripping up the roads today, I know the guy I sold it to actually sold it himself a year or so ago and got $4500 out of it.
