97 4.2 power steering out? doesn't seem to be pump
About a week ago I was comin home from work and came to a stop and my power steering went out. I shut my truck off and turned it back on and the power steering came back. Today it did the same thing.......went out, shut off turned on and it came back. It finally went out for good today. I had a guy who used to be a mechanic at a ford dealership look at it and he said it didn't seem to be the pump although it might be. He said to check on forums about people having power steering problem and how they fixed it. Another thing, there seems to be no leak either and the resevoir is full. He told me to see if there isn't like a power steering switch somewhere in it? Does anyone know if there is one? Or what else could be causin this? Please post back with possible solutions or advice. Thank you

Maybe you got oil on your serpentine belt, or your belt is worn out. Just guessing.
Edit: It could be the power steering pump bearings. Take the belt off and make sure the pulley turns rather smoothly.
