'97 f150 V6 Oil Pressure problem

My friend has a '97 4x4 with the v6... when the truck gets hot, the oil pressure drops to almost nothing at idle... then it shakes and stumbes really bad... a loud ticking comes from the top of the engine(probably rocker arms)... when he gives it the gas, the oil pressure picks back up...

was told it was a bad bearing on the crank shaft... does anyone know if this is true, or have any other suggestions...

Sounds like it needs a rebuild to me.

It could be a bad bearing, but more then likely the entire engine is just plain worn out.


If you keep driving it, eventually it will seize up on you.

Running some thicker oil might help for a little while, but its only delaying its eventual demise.
