'99 F150 Engine Will Notstart

I Have A 99 Ford F150 Xlt With A 6cyl-4.2l Engine. I Bought The Vehicle About Three Weeks Ago And No Problems Til This A.m. When I Attempted To Start It The 1st & 2nd Time All I Heard Was A "ping". On The 3rd Attempt The Engine Cranked. This Happened Twice So I Assumed The Starter Was Getting Stuck, So I Replaced The Starter But Still Hearing The "ping" On The Starter. Battery Is @ 12v And I Checked Wiring Leading To Starter. If Any Suggestions I Could Sure Use Them.
Thanks, Melr.

That ping could have been your solenoid clicking because your battery may be loosing power.

If it's not that, I'd say you might have sheered some teeth on your flywheel.

Thumbs up

Peacemaker, thanks for responding. Luckily it wasn't as bad as it seemed.
Turned out to be badly corroded B+ wire connector terminal @ starter. She fired right up after that. Thanks again.
