Why is it hard to believe that a V6 can be fast??

I drove a 4 cyl Ranger around for years. It wasn't fast, never will be. But it got me from A-B and never left me stranded.
I could care less what anyone with a v8 thinks about my v6. I know it's kind of slow. I don't care. I've never cared. And I've never griped about it either. Notice I'm not the thread starter?
I'm happy with what I got. I hope you are too.

I can throw that WrX in the back of my pick up.
Anyway. It takes a long time to do mods to a vehicle. Unless your a Mamas boy that has everything.
Im happy with the trucks performance so far, not planing to stop any time soon either.

Mamas boy, you could be my son..lol .mod all you want, your truck is not a supercab or super crew and most likely not a 4wd, you have an advantage in less LBS to haul around, and I doubt you will ever tow a trailer.
I'm sorry for my typo, I wanted to state, it can be done and your a example of doing so.

I dont think there's a single person on this board that dislikes the fact that you've spent time and money to make your v-6 be able to beat a stock v-8. I think what people dislike is your childish attitude. If there's a hater on this board its you, you're the one that has to state in every one of your posts that your truck will out run everyone elses and be derogative to every post
I'll have to say, when you first started posting I thought you was another member logging on under a fake ID just having fun with everybody else, now I am starting to believe you are for real
I will say this, I only checked in on the v-6 board about once every 2 or 3 weeks and read up on the posts, but since you've started posting I find myself checking it every day just to see what retarded things you've said for the day.
I suggest you set back, stop talking so much and do a little research on how to actually build a motor and I dont mean by going to ricersRus.com to get ideas. Oh, BTW, hows that electric turbo working out??

Anything can be made fast. Why start out with less though? Kids spend tons of money on making a 13 second civic when they can spend half as much and get something like an ls1 f body and start with a 13-14 second car.
Who cares anyway? Its a truck. A v6 truck will never be fast. If you think it is, you have never driven anything fast. My 3v 5.4 f150 is a pooch. Thats what I expected.
a 300 hp v8? Who cares? Dont the v6 accords have that?

It is the fun of seeing the face of a Corvette owner get blown away by a 1990 Civic with more rust than paint. Cost of car $900.00 CDN. Cost of B18 engine $650.00 CDN. Cost of Engine mounts $450.00 US. Face of Corvette owner - Priceless.

Well you could start out with the V6 for lower intial purchase price and higher mpg. When I bought my V6 supercab in 2000 a 4.6l would have been $650 more, a 5.4L $1100. The 4.6l had 220hp and the 4.2 205. Two tanks ago I had averaged 6 tanks of gas for 22.01mpg, you won't see to many 4.6 or 5.4l doing that. A friend has the 4.6L he averages 20mpg and another friend has a 5.4L he averages 17mpg. Just so you will know we all live in the sticks about 25 miles from town so most of our driving probably resembles highway driving as compared to city.
After installing a S&B airfilter, a drop in Magnaflow muffler, port/polished T.B., electric fans, U.D. pulley and a superchips 9100 programmer I out ran a 99 Dodge 318 standard cab so bad it made the owner sick. Was he asleep at the wheel, oh no he jumped me and pulled a full length ahead and the ol V6 ran him down. Was he stock,NO, he had true duals with only cats plus had just got his truck back from servicing. Cost?, doesn't matter the look on him and his riding partner's face was priceless. Especially after they were waving and laughing at me a length ahead and he had called it a piece of sh*t V6 ford. Time it took to run the cheater down, some where about 1/3rd the way into second gear.
That was two years ago and I have since added Magnaflow catback and Mac intake. Would I be scared to try a 360 Dodge or a 2000 model 5.4L? No and believe I would stand a fair chance at taking them.
As for a V6 being barily able to do work, my brother had a 1997 that he hauled a car hauler around with, completely stock I might add. He probably towed it around 50 times to the car auctions in a city 50 miles away. I have seen full size trucks and cadillacs hauled in by that truck. Would I do that with mine? Nah, but he did and sold the truck with a 136K on it. Plus his truck only had the 308 rearend in it with no tow package.
The V6 is alot more engine than some people will ever give it credit for, and the biggest bashers always drive something else. I owned a 97 V6 first so this is my second one and knew exactly what I was getting into.

At least he is not beating on your truck without the chip in it any more

I had forgotten 'bout that. Since the 5.4 swap Mike T has turned to down to a measly 5700 rpm. I still have to get it to the Dyno for Data logging.JMC
Well way back in the summer of 99 when I was first thinking of buying a truck as I was going from a Mustang GT to a F150 I test drove a reg cab v6 with the 5 speed it felt like it had now power then i went ahead and test drove a extended cab with the 4.6 and auto the power differnce was very noticeable I was surpriesed that the extended cab truck was so much faster than the regcab V6 I test drove so when it was time for me to trade tha Mustang in i traded it in for a 4.6 reg cab and autotrany now i have the 5.4 V8 in my current truck to me the V6 felt like a little gutless wonder I know a truck isn't going to have the preformance of a Mustang GT but I still like to have some get up and go That V6 I test drove didn't have any get up and go feel to it I'll admit to me the v6 is a little gutless wonder and always will be.
