It has been in the US for a while. My experience is that your mileage will go down slightly, as will your power. Almost all gas here in CA is a mix, and I get about 20% lower mileage than when I visit other states that don't have the mix.

Yep, it has lower energy content than a non-ethanol mix which results in less mpg's and less power. It's best to buy a quality gas whenever you can. Sure you'll save a little $$$ on the ethanol mix, but your milage will suffer. That means you'll have to fill up sooner.

EXAMPLE... Let's just say you fill up twice a week and the average cost of 93 octane = $3.20 x .10 (10% savings) = .32 cents with a 10% savings. Which totals $2.88 a gallon for 93 ethanol mix.

*2 tanks of ethanol mix @ $2.88 per gallon assuming you have a 26 gallon tank = $149.76

*2 tanks of full 93 octane = $166.40

You'll save by using the ethanol mix theoretically, but that savings almost cancels itself out because you have to fill up more often. I'd go ahead and use the full 93 octane if it were me.

ethanol in gas

thanks for the insight. here in the phil. i think there is no price difference with regular gas its a way they try to keep gas prices as low as possible across the board as of now we get $2.27 per gallon for unleaded 93 octane.
