It was goravin.com, but it's not there anymore. Just type in Ravin exhaust on your search engine and you'll see some places that sell ravin mufflers. Midas muffler shops sells and installs Ravin mufflers.

I haven't seen any. I think you'd problably have to get a system custom made at a muffler shop. I could be wrong though, but I haven't seen any to my knowledge.

I installed the Magnaflow 15609 on my shortbed supercab last Dec. and have really enjoyed it. Removing the old exhaust it would look to me that all you would have to do is cut off how much you need length wise of what you just removed to add to the Magnaflow to make up the length. It is stainless steel anyways.

I'm going to get a Flowmaster 50 Delta-Flow SI/DO muffler out of a Jeg's catalog for 90 bucks and have a local muffler shop fab me a dual exhaust that exits out at an angle behind the rear tires with some stainless tips. I need something quieter than the "original" 40 series I have now. Because I have a neighbor who is not doing so good healthwise, and may not live much longer. I figure I'd better tone it down a lil' bit out of respect.

Has anybody tried to chop the y-pipe and go dual on a 4.2L? If you do this, what else should be done to the engine to compensate for the loss of backpressure?

I've got the Summit bolt-on cat-back 3" SI/DO system on my 4.2L '02. Straight out of the box, it will bolt-on to your long bed with no modification. The 4.2L is not listed as a possible fitment, but it works just fine. Great price, too, though I don't think it's available in SS. It sounds pretty good, too, with my K&N 77 FIPK.

Thumbs down

A dumb question... can I just add a muffler to the stock pipes to get a rumble? If so what is the recommended muffler to just swap them out?

Yes, you can just change the muffler. The only problem you're going to come across is that the stock muffler is about 26in long; most after market mufflers are 18-20in, so you'll have to get a longer pipe installed. You can buy bolt-on cat-back kits that aren't hard to install, or you can take your truck in to a shop, like Midas, and they'll weld in the pipes with your muffler.
