Noisy Door
Noisy Door
I posted this in the "Other Body" section but no one seemed to care lol.
The problem may be simple and I just haven't had time to look into it yet....But my 2001 supercab has the most annoying noises coming from the driver's door. There are at least 3, the first I believe is caused by the loose weather stripping, the second is a constant squeak coming from inside the door almost the entire time the truck is moving, and the third is a loud banging sound from the mid or lower part of the door when I go over anything rough. Does anyone know what these problems could be and how I could fix them? I believe the passenger door is beginning to do the same. Also, does anyone know how to get the door apart to look at it?

Not sure about the weatherstripping noise you're hearing. I had noise from the window banging back and forth when it was down 2 or 3 inches. If you stick your finger in the track, you can 'unroll' the weatherstripping to reveal the hollow area under the 'velvet' side. I stuck some sticky backed foam tape in here to tighten up the track channel.
The squeak and clunking are probably the rear door not seated properly. The locks (both top and bottom) need to be cleaned and lubed every so often. Try some penetrating oil on both latches, then the door latch as well. Make sure the rear door is closing tightly - at the top and bottom.
Good Luck
