fuel pressure test

Hi guys,

I hope someone can help. I'm getting p0141 144 codes and I've purchased a fuel pressure guage to make sure the pump is not the problem. Does anyone know the proper lbs of pressure at idle and wot for the 4.2?

Thanks

By the way I've already cleaned MAF and checked pcv elbows.

The P0141 code indicates that there is a problem with the heater cicuit for the downstream O2 sensor on the passenger side.

There is no "144" or P0144 code listed in the factory service documentation (PCED).

There is no indication from your posted symtoms that there is any problem with fuel delivery.

Static fuel pressure (system fully "charged") with engine off should be around 40 psi. With the engine running, pressure should be maintained around 30 psi regardless of engine speed. These are general values, specifics would have to be located for your specific combination.

LOL, I guess i typed a little to fast and didn't pay attention to the codes. I have a P0171 and P0174, lean bank codes for both right and left banks.

Thanks for the info on the pressure, i checked it and it's 30 at idle and 40 wot. That seems to be within normal limits so I'll start chasing down the vacuum lines.

By the way in terms of symptoms, the CEL being on is the primary sypmtom, no other problems to speak of except that I do get some valve clatter from time to time. I usually suspect bad gas though as it is very inconsistent.

Thanks for the reply ProjectSH089
