I have an 02 F-150 v6, 5sp manual trans, with about 38,000mi and recently my CEL came on and so I bought a OBD II scanner and got a DTC of 0456 followed by 0181. Does anyone know what I should do next?

 

Sorry,I cant find those codes in my book.You might want to call a Ford dealership or even AutoZone to find out what those codes mean. BTW,welcome to the site!

 

You should obtain a copy of the shop service CD so you have the diagnostic routines available. These are not DTCs that lend themselves to common faults or repairs.

Barring that, the dealer is your best alternative.

Those DTCs are covered on the Ford CDs.

Thanks guys, I think I'll try to get the CD, as well as get ahold of a dealer. Any recommendations where to get a service CD? It seems like something to invest in for future repairs.
