MAC headers

I'm looking to get a set of headers for my 4.2 v6 f150 and I was thinking about the MAC or JBA headers. I'm leaning more towards MAC because it's cheaper and ceramic coated. The thing of it is I cant seem to find any sets of the MAC headers for sale anywhere for the 4.2 v6. So if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you have to contact MAC directily and then they build them for you. A month or so wait I have been told. If you get them post back and let us know how you like them and installation fun -n- tips and things like that.

i have the jba headers and they fit pretty good. i did have to grind one head on the bolt for the right manifold flange to get it in there after they were installed. should have prolly put the bolt in then put them on. and i only had to grind alittle off to make it a 5 sided bolt instead of a 6 sided one.

im thinking i heard the mac headers are basically 3.8 stang headers. which makes sence since the 4.2 is just a stroked 3.8 and head design is very similure. either one would be good quality i would think. but without any "power adders" shorty headers wont make much of a differance over stock. and it does give the engine compartment a better sound then just cat back exhaust.

Thanks for the info guys. I do have a MAC intake system and a flowmaster cat-back system. I am also about to get a superchips custom tune. So I want to get the headers to free up the airflow out and get a better sound.

I've got the JBA headers also and have been happy with them. I've talked to a lot of people with headers on the 4.2 and the concensus seems to be MAC due to price.
Whenyou do decide and go to install them, do yourself a huge favor. Take off the wheels and inner fenderwells. That makes the installation 100% easier than just going in from the top and bottom.
Also get some lock washers for the header bolts if they don't come with the headers. Good Luck!

You guys out there with the headers on your truck. Do the headers give good space for access to the spark plugs? Do they have good space for the plug wires so they don't burn? How hard is it to change plugs with your headers on? Mark M
