my dad had a 87 chevy station wagon, celebrity with the 2.5 four banger. he always did maintance, and it got 262k, before the engine cracked a ring, and got a little cavity in the side of i think it was #3 piston. put a used motor in it, and it still goes today. we sold it with 278k, and the guy we sold it to still drives it every day

I have a few lotsa miles stories. I drive all over the midwest in my job as an installer, as do others who work for my employer. I bought a junk 1986 Buick Century about three or four years ago. It had 130K on it when I bought it for $1000. I put another 100K on it. So it had 230K on it when I got rid of it. This car still had a carburetor! No major work on it while I wa driving it.
Have two fellow workers who had around 300K on their vans. One was an Aerostar and one was a Dodge Caravan. They don't go for ever but they will go for a long time.
