Question How to...

Hello everyone, this is only my third post, so I hope you'll bear with me. Just became a proud owner of a 03 F150 S. cab, 4.2. Being a newbie, I've got a lot of questions, but I'll start with suggestions to get a little more power out of my 4.2. It was suggested that I might start with chip/tuner, air intake and exhaust. Any suggestions? Don't laugh, but wants a chip/tuner?

A chip is an electronic device that plugs into an unused port of the truck's computer. What it does is change timing and other parameters in the engine to make more power given that you use a high octane gas like 91 or 93 octane. A programmer is essentially the same, but costs a little bit more, doesn't require you to pull out the computer. A programmer just plugs in to that port under the dash on the drivers side. I highly recommend a superchips chip or the superchips micro tuner. DO NOT buy or use a hypertech programmer.
