Overdrive
Can't seem to get a straight answer.
First I have 2002 F-150 Sport . Auto trans, 4.2 L .
Everyone I ask says something different, even ford dealers.
I have a 17ft bass boat.
I want to know if I can pull my boat with the overdrive on without fear of damage.
I've read the owners manual and it says do not tow in overdrive. But it also reads the reason is to stop the transmission from shifting a lot.
I live in flat country with a few small hills. When I've pulled my boat and forgot to take it out of OD, it never shifts out of OD.
So would it hurt to pull the boat in OD on the interstate?
What would a safe top speed on interstate be if not pulling in OD?

Thanks for reply Max.
I towed my boat this weekend 175 miles on interstate, didn't have any problems. It never droped out of OD.
When I got off interstate then I took it out of OD for in town driving.
