speed recalibration

speed recalibration

Does anyone know how to recalibrate the speedometer. I bought Jet Chips "Accu-Speed," but it didnt work. (1999 V6 auto)

Welcome ! The Ford dealership can re-program the computer and fix the speedo to factory gear/tire combinations only. A chip can be programmed to fix other gear/tire combinations. I had no problem doing this with my last truck using a Superchips.

Here are the Superchips for Fords. It's not just one part number, there are several. With the chips, you have to inform the vendor that you need the speedometer calibration included in your tune program. With the tuner (like the #1715), you can adjust it yourself. You can click on each product and get more information.

There are also a number of #1715s in the classifieds here. Do a classified search for "superchip 1715". Sometimes you can get good deals there making offers.
