f150 vs. tundra

so my friend said he wanted to race on friday, i told him okay, but i'd like to know how much of a chance i've got... I've got a bone stock 4.2L f150 regular cab, flare side, 5 - speed. he has a bone stuck v-8 tundra extended cab with an automatic transmission... do you think it'll be somewhat even?

Given the Tundra V8's extra power and the Ford 5-speed's reluctance to shift quickly, the Tundra would probably be faster?

I'm not sure about vehcile weight, but it seems like the single cab Ford and the extenced cab Tundra might weigh close to the same?

My vote is for the 32-valve DOHC V-8 if he knows how to drive.

he got me by half a trucvk length... and that's with an extremly dirty air filter, 116,000 miles on my spark pluggs, and little racing experience on my part. so i believe the truck has the power to take it.

As a previous owner of a 4.2L V6 5-Speed XLT Scab and have driven a 4x4 Tundra V8, I can tell you without a doubt you cannot take him. Even if you have an exhaust, intake, chip, etc. he will smoke you.

If you read any road test for full size trucks, the V8 Tundra 4x4 runs anywhere from mid-high 8 second 0-60 and low-mid 16 quarters. Our F150 V6s can't touch that!

Maybe if you were squeezing some laughing gas or running a supercharger?

Below are some performance scores from the recent Motor Trend Truck of the Year Test (Which the F150 won). Note that the Tundra in the test is the larger quad cab model and the F150 is a 5.4L 3V (305 hp) supercab. Times are shown with and without load.

Hey sdf150guy, do you live anywhere in Eastlake or Bonita in San Diego, I think I saw your truck sitting on a driveway there?
