engine front cover problems

I was talking to a friend that knows someone who works for ford ( the service parts manager) and my friend says the service parts manager told him the 2003 v6 4.2l f150 has a front cover problem "the front cover of the engine that covers the timing and chain and causing problems with coolant" i dont exactly know what this means (this is all coming through AIM) but he says its a $1,000.00 repair and not covered by warrenty.. If anyone has ANY idea of what im talking about or trying ot talk about please reply to this! thnx

He's wrong on both accounts. It's approx. 450-500 bucks at the dealer and affect all 97 and most '98 4.2 V6 trucks. 99 and newer have the updated gaskets from the factory.
