The truck almost stalls when I'm backing out of the driveway, stopped at red light, or going through a drive-thru. I changed the plugs, cap and rotor. I haven't done the wires yet, because I want to see if there's other things that could be causing this problem. I know that at one time, the ignition coil on Ford distributors were problems. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Check the timing, clean the injectors, clean the intake manifold, check for any codes, check the throttle body and clean, check your IAC, change your fuel filter, change you air filter....the list goes on. Basicly, I would clean everything that air or fuel passes through

a buddy of mine has a 90 with the inline 6 and he had a verry irratic idle it would barley run finally he figured out that the fuel pressure regulator was ripped inside and was allowing fuel to be sucked through the vaccume line, into the intake it might be your problem that is if its fuel injected
