Understandable.
LOOK GOOD most of all
but my truck will top out at 98mph and thats when the govonor slows it down.
thats why i ask how you kill the govonor. I heard that there is a WIRE that you can cut. Is that true?
I want 0-60 times to be VERY FAST so i'm not too worried about the govonor
how do i get VERY FAST zero to sixty times?
thanx man!!!

Superchip or programmer will get rid of the M.P.H. limiter. I would have thought that the Diablo Chip would have done this as well though I have no experience with this brand. Gears will give you better acceleration. Underdrive pulleys and electic fans should be good for an additional 20 horses. This should set you back a little better than a grand (assuming you are turning the wrench). There are a wide variety of aftermarket hoods that will make a statement in the looks department. These should be good for a start.

new gears would give you some punch off the line.

You have a V6 so thats the smaller rear end... not sure how low the gears can go. Has anybody here done 4.10's in a V6?

No, its not true about a wire you can cut. The computer program controls the top speed. A performance chip as mentioned has a program that overrides the top speed or at least sets it higher.

Another thing to remember is a 4.2 (V6) 5-speed can beat a 4.6 (V8) automatic everyday of the week. Reason is because the 4.2 with the 5-speed has more (not much) horsepower at the rear wheels then does the 4.6 auto. There is only a difference of about 15 horsepower between the V6 and 4.6 V8 and it loses more horsepower through the auto trans...

True statement, but when it comes time to start making the modifications I'll take the V-8 most every time.

yea, i have one of those Hoods your talking about.
and i have auto trans.
the diablo kills the rev limiter and obviously adds about 18 ponys and about 29 torque
how much is one of those throttle bodys?
is it a throttle body or a throttle body SPACER?

technically it doesn't remove the speed limiter. it just set's it to like 600mph or something, which is totally unrealistic.

Due to an email special request from a member wishing to know what I was referring to:

StreetGlow Tips

Sorry I was wrong, they're made by StreetGlow instead of APC. I wonder who makes the Afterburner tips? Probably APC but I can't find it anywhere. Might want to try Summit Racing bro.

Just snip the big black wire coming from the battery
