Also, these F150's have the fuel pump in the tank. The gas helps keep the pump cool. Regularly running the tank near empty could shorten fuel pump life. Also, running the tank low increases the chances sediment in the bottom of the tank will clog your fuel filter. It's easier to just fill up when the low fuel light comes on.
