Annoying Rattle, Whats it from?

I am sick of hearing a rattleing sound when I idle or drive slow. Has anyone had this problem and how can I fix it?

I had the same problem. I brought it into Ford and it turned out to be a 'mounting bracket' from the factory, its the bracket that they used to drop the engine into the truck. They said it was very common and they either tightened mine up or took it off. Im not sure exactly where it is, but someone here fixed their own, maybe they will reply and tell you where it is exactly. If you look down in the engine compartment you can see some brackets, but Im not sure if those are it.

Yep, that was me. There are two black brackets that connect to the exhaust manifolds on both sides of the engine. Check those, and see if they are loose. My problem was that the bracket on the passengers side kept vibrating against the exhaust manifold bolt. The bracket itself was a little loose, so I tightened it up and "BENT" it away from the exhaust manifold bolt that it was vibrating against. These brackets are very flimsy and will rattle your brains out. When you figure out which bracket it is,(problably passenger's side like mine was) make sure it is bolted on the manifold tightly, and then bend it outwards away from the block. You only need 1/4" to 1/2" of clearance, so don't bend it to far. This solved my rattling problem. Hopefully that's whats the matter with yours and you get it fixed. If it's not the brackets rattling, check your exhaust heat shields.

Ya it sounds like its coming from below the engine, around the cats. I will look as soon as I get home.

Mine annoying rattle was on the drivers side, but both brackets were loose. Mine was not bolted on one side for both brackets. There is a hole there and it lines up to a manifold bolt. Kinda crazy for a bracket that would be used as lift points for the engine being loose like that.
