Air Intake Kit For 4.2L F150???

Does any company offer an Intake kit for the 4.2L V6 for my F-150? If so, who? Ive seen the mod to remove part of the stock airbox to get the same effect. If you had any experience with this mod, tell me your good/bad info about it. And any inportant tips. thanx

I've seen a few different ones out there. The online store on this site has them. Also www.stylinconcepts.com has several. I am going to get the Volant Cool Air intake.

Can any of you guys give me a part number because all the intakes that I see say they are for the 4.6 or 5.4 V8. Can you buy the intakes without the filters? cuz I want to put a K&N filter on it.
Thanx

I finally saw the intakes you guys were talking about, but they are just too pricy for my wallet. Any one know where to get cheap universal ones that would work or know how to mod the original airbox? And when I get a new intake, do I have to do anything speical with the computer?
Thanx

I didn't feel like paying for one either. So, I justcut the box. I also have plans to replace the 'bendy' part of the intake tube with a straight piece as soon as I find something to do it with.

I noticed a decent amout of difference concidering what I did and what I paid for it. Im happy with it and thats all that matters

Ok thanx. That set up you have looks pretty good. I am now planning to do a similar job, but remove the entire air box that goes around the filter.(i dont wanna cut anything incase i need to switch back for warrentee issues) Is there anyone know of a cheapy universal kit that would fit? And would there be any thing special I would have to do with the copmuter, like reset it?

Dont HAVE to reset the computer and cutting the air box shouldn't affect the warranty except for the warranty on the air box. I just cut off the top part of the box but left the bottom part on to keep out a little of the heat.

Prromans intake

I just did the mod on my airbox and got a K&N. Haven't noticed any differance except a little more noise coming from under the hood. Let ya know after the next tank of gas. I think a piece of PVC would do the trick to replace the flex in the intake runner. Maybe a piece that goes outside of the orig. piece but how to attach it? If you went inside you would have to contend with edges and more turblance. Maybe beveled edges would help.

Volant intake system

Just had a look at the system. Where is the COOLER air coming from? It look not much different from the POORMANS intake as far as drawing cooler air and for the flex portion of the orig. part.
